AUTOBOND DESCRIPTION The Guardian AUTOBOND is a simple easy solution to your interference
problems. Merely connect the foreign pipeline to one side of the Autobond and your pipeline to the other and your interference problem is cured. Guardian uses diode technology to cure your interference problem and our technology to make the unit last in the hazardous environment of the field.
The AUTOBOND is available in four current ratings and each rating is
available in a polarized and a non-polarized version. Our primary unit will carry up to a five amps but we also have Autobonds available that will carry ten, fifteen, and twenty amps. These larger units will not fit inside a Big Fink test station though.
The Autobond is a good choice wherever a resistance bond is being used
now. They will maintain a certain voltage difference between the two structures even as ground bed resistance's change. This is a big difference from a resistor where the voltage difference changes rapidly as the ground bed resistance changes.
The AB-P has the lowest voltage difference characteristics and is usually
used to block current flow in one direction when problems occur with the foreign rectifier. The AB-NP is the second lowest and often is used when you don't mind sharing current yet still need to eliminate interference.
All of the units have surge protection included and an internal shunt for
measuring the current flow and direction. These units are weather sealed and can be installed without an enclosure but we recommend that they be used with a Big Fink or similar enclosure to support the unit and protect the wires coming to the unit.
